Why not?

On the same lines as below...
What I'm thinking, is since this Web2.0 ajax etc. etc. stuff has come along and everyone's mixing and blending and doing all kinds of great new stuff with the web and what's on it, why can't we let the browsers n on the party, and get them displaying/serving us online content?
I mean the stuff I'm going on about below, that's basically stuff that's sitting static in my browser (doing nice dynamic stuff sure) but surely it doesn't have to be sitting in my browser. Surely it can be served up to whatever browser I happen to be using, wherever I happen to be?
